In Tactics Advance, the job system has been changed up a little bit. Rather than gaining new jobs with job level increases like the original, this one takes a certain amount of abilities learned to reach new jobs. For example, if you would like to have a Paladin in your party, you will need to learn 2 A-Abilities (Action Abilities) from the Soldier job first. Once you meet this criteria, the Paladin job will become available.
