The Spirits Within Easter Eggs

There are several easter eggs found on the Spirits Within DVD, as well as one found in the film itself.

The first is the one seen in the film, in the very beginning. If you look closely at Aki shirt, you will notice the stitching of Final Fantasy's favorite yellow bird. That's right, everyone's favorite Chocobo makes his film debut in The Spirits Within. This was done again with the Moogles in Advent Children.

Final Fantasy Thriller

The second major easter egg is found in the bonus section of the DVD. It contains Squaresofts version of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" dance sequence. It is actually pretty darn good. At the time of release, this was definitely something of a marvel to be able to accomplish with CGI animation. It is difficult enough to mimic those infamous moves in person!
